How to Emboss a stencil with Weathered and Worn Texture Medium and Potters Paints Chalk Vogue
- Weathered and Worn Texture medium
- Chalk Vogue (in your chosen colour)
- Stirring stick
- Container ( to mix the paste)
- Frog tape
- Stencil of your choice
1 part W&W texture medium to
1 part Potters Paints Chalk Vogue paint
Add W&W powder to the paint and not the other way around Weathered and Worn texture medium won’t change the colour of the paint.
You want a texture like a buttercream.
How to use.
Tape your stencil onto your piece. This prevents the stencil
from moving about when applying the paste
Pick up the desired amount of paste with your spatula.
You will need less than you think.
Apply the embossing paste over the stencil.
It’s up to you how thickly and evenly you
Want to apply. Experiment and see what you prefer!
Once you have finished applying the paste,
lift the stencil straight off your piece so as not to smear
the stencil texture you have created.
Leave to dry
(dry time varies depending on how thick it was applied)
Clean your spatula, stencil and work surface immediately
